Plan your Holiday
38-75 plus years.
Generally we have more females, but this can vary from trip to trip.
No, not necessarily. Most are single, but many are widowed or do have partners who they choose not to travel with, or perhaps the partner has an illness that prevents them from travelling, or the partner just has no interest in travel at all. We also have groups of single friends who like to travel together.
Some tours will be escorted from New Zealand and some will be locally escorted on arrival at your destination. If the tour is not escorted from New Zealand, a representative from Travel for Solos may meet the group prior to departure at Auckland Airport so that introductions can be made and the group can start getting to know one another. The representative will also talk you through your documents and fully familiarise you with what to expect on your trip, plus assist with check-in formalities. Some tours may join larger tours. e.g. cruises and sports tours.
Yes, and if you require we can book any additional travel arrangements.
No! Our tours depart from Auckland Airport but we can arrange flights from anywhere within New Zealand that has an airport – obviously this will be an additional cost.
Yes, you can join us from outside New Zealand. We will endeavour to find the cheapest airfare for you to connect with the group at the destination.
You will need to tell us where you are travelling and when so that we can check our database for others wanting to do the same or similar. We will then package your entire holiday for you.
Yes. Our retail travel department is a member of the Helloworld chain who obtain competitive prices and will be happy to assist with all your travel arrangements.
Prices are quoted in NZ dollars. All costs quoted are subject to increase or currency fluctuation without notice until full payment is received. Packages can be paid for by cash, cheque or direct credit. If you wish to pay by Credit Card we charge a service administration fee to cover the fees imposed on us by Banks and Credit Card companies.
This may sometimes be necessary due to insufficient numbers, health scares, political instability, etc. If we do cancel, your money is refunded in full.
We require that all our clients are fully insured. If you do not already have travel insurance, we will send you an application form for cover by Comprehensive Insurance.
You will require a passport with at least six months validity from the time you return to New Zealand from your holiday. If you do not have a passport, please advise us so we can send you an application form for a New Zealand Passport.
We will advise you of the required Visas for your tour and can assist with your application. If you are travelling on one of our Group departures, we will ask that you send us your passport so that we can apply for the visas on a group basis as this saves time and money and we can then be assured that all the group has the correct entry permits.
If you live in the same city, town or region as other people in your group, we will put you in touch with each other via telephone or email. Most people try to meet at least one other person in the group before they go.
Most people organise their own catch-ups after a tour if they live close by to each other. If there is enough interest, Travel For Solos will organise an annual reunion at the most suitable location.
